Often times if an item is repairable, we request a repair estimate from an unbiased 3rd party. This 3rd party can provide evidence of the damage incurred to the item(s) while in transit and detail whether it is repairable or a total loss.
Some claims may require multiple estimates due to the value of the loss or if the initial estimate is not detailed enough.
When providing a repair estimate, we typically like to see the following:
- Contact information from the 3rd party providing the estimate
---- Who provided this estimate?
---- What is their address and contact information?
---- We may contact this person/company to ask additional questions, so the contact details should be up to date.
- Date of the estimate
- Clear and concise reasoning and itemized list of damaged items
